What we give as a gift is usually an extension of who we are or who we want to be. The way we give it is equally as important as it determines first impressions as well as potentially giving the gift more meaning. What do we mean? If you receive an elegant watch as a gift, would you expect to get it in a brown bag or an ornate box? Would the drama of receiving the gift be greater or less if given in an inapropriate enclosure? Yes, it's not just a way to hide it. So before we list some gift ideas, let's quickly talk about ideas in ways to give them for any occasion.
Paper is pretty, but it truly has a very limited function. How about fabric? How about a table-cloth? How about "wrapping" it (depending on size of course) in a re-useable box, container, clear bucket, etc. and "hiding" it with some flowers?
Perhaps a gift bag? But not just any gift bag, How about a re-useable shopping bag?
What about no bag or wrapping at all? No box or anything exceot for the element of surprise upon discovering it in an unusual place!
The gift can stand alone - but its delivery gives it an effect. Now onto the gift ideas!
