Household Items

What does your shopping list look like? Things that we seem to go through so quickly every week that we're amazed that we didn't buy stock in these companies! These things include everything from trash bags to kitchen-necessities to light bulbs. First, check out the Green Steps area to see where the list can be modified or even reduced. Once through there, you can move onto this and other lists where much of what you could ever need is available. Also, be sure to check out our How To Shop guide to maximize your needs, potentially minimize costs, and make most of any shipping required. Shop around to see which store is closer to you and which carry the best prices. You may also want to search the internet (google.com or yahoo.com) for an actual store near where you live. There is no substitution for helping your local community while also promoting value-products.

  • Eco-Products - trash bags to picnic items (cups, plates, utensils) to napkins - 15 years of service and are based in Colorado.
  • Kokopelli's Green Market - based out of Vermont, this market has most of everyday household items from light bulbs to kitchen trash bags, to safe cleaning products to bath and body. (Shipping charge is based on your location)
  • GreenLine Paper Company - Established in 1992 and based out of Pennsylvania, they sell office supplies, cleaning and household products, and generally serve everyone in the home, office, hotel, and restaurant business. They have a nice online catalogue (pdf).
  • Treecycle - out of Montana, they deal mostly with paper but also offer other household items.
  • Ecomall - is a large site which has many links to other products and services. It's a little hard to navigate and may not be pertinent but a nice collection nonetheless.

This is just a small list but a valuable start!

If you would like your store (or one that you found and would like to share) to be included in our list, please email us and we'll check it out. Also, contact us if any of the links above don't work or you find an issue with one of the retailers - we try to promote only sound business practices while maintaining a healthy environment.
